WHAT WE DO
The PTA is a group of parents and teachers who want to be involved in the school community and provide extra benefits to our students that they might not otherwise be able to enjoy. We coordinate events throughout the year that raise money toward a variety of purchases, and all of our proceeds stay right
here at Big Sky to benefit our kids. Some of the fundraisers this year will include our annual fall cookie dough sale, Saturday Live, a school carnival, and a spring fun run. Here are just a few examples of what our PTA has recently purchased for the school: computer labs, iPad lab, playground equipment, books, school assemblies, learning software licenses, and much more!
National PTA is composed of 54 state congresses and more than 20,000 local units in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and the Department of Defense Schools in Europe.
State PTAs are the liaison between the local PTA and National PTA, helping each to function effectively and to support and sustain the other.
PTAs at the local level are valuable assets to their school communities by providing educational and parent involvement information, resources, events and activities.
PTA addresses issues that are important to parents and public school administrators. We fight for full funding, quality teachers, and capabilities for schools to thrive. Membership is open to everyone. Big Sky PTA is autonomous, but supported by the national structure.
PTA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

MEETINGS
We meet one night a month in the school library. All parents and teachers are welcome, even if you are not a PTA member! Watch for upcoming meeting announcements on our Facebook page.
JOIN THE PTA – NO TIME COMMITMENT REQUIRED!
PTA membership dues also help with our fundraising dollars. All families are invited to join, even if you can’t make it to our monthly meetings or don’t have a lot of time to volunteer. Annual memberships are $15 per family and membership forms are always available at the PTA bulletin board by the school office.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We have periodic opportunities for volunteers to help us with events/projects. We have a lot of fun together, and volunteering is a fantastic way to get to know other parents and meet new friends! We know it’s hard to know what your work and life schedule will be like too far in advance, so you can sign up here to receive information when we are looking for help with a specific project.
Thank you for your support!
